The Dorothy and Larry Dallas Heart Center at Cardinal Glennon makes cardiology care more convenient and accessible for patients and families. The new center will allow more than 23,000 visits and procedures to be performed at Cardinal Glennon each year.

Advanced Technology

Our skilled physicians use state-of-the-art technology to detect health concerns very early. In fact, we can detect heart problems before birth and help families prepare before their baby is born.

Some key features of our new heart center include:

• Fetal echocardiography testing
• Exercise stress-testing
• Digital echo technology, including cardiac ultrasound machine with advanced 3D heart imaging in "real time"

"This new 3D equipment allows us to see heart structures such as the valves with greater detail and clarity," says Cardiology Director Kenneth Schowengerdt, Jr., M.D. "It's about the closest thing you can get to the true appearance of the heart other than what is directly seen at the time of surgery."
