Amanda Jones has served as clinical nurse for the St. Louis Fetal Care Institute since 2010, after a 10-year career as a nurse at SSM St. Mary’s Health Center, where she has worked in labor and delivery, maternal transport, clinical support, and as a surgical technician in labor and delivery.
Her work in the high-risk labor and delivery unit, which she loved, prepared her for the varied and exciting work she does at the St. Louis Fetal Care Institute. Amanda received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Southern Illinois University—Edwardsville and her Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences Degree from Southern Illinois University—Carbondale.
Amanda loves helping families through such a challenging time in their lives. A mother herself, she understands how vulnerable mothers can feel during pregnancy and delivery. She loves to answer questions, and encourages patients to write down and ask as many questions as they need to feel comfortable. She feels a connection with the patients and families she meets, and feels honored to work with a team of people who are so dedicated to patients and the program.
Outside of work, Amanda loves spending time with her husband, two children, family, and friends. She enjoys hiking, camping, swimming, gardening, cooking, and baking.
