PLEASE NOTE: The fundamental course is designed for nurses with minimal experience in fetal monitoring (1 year or less). The advanced course is designed for nurses who have developed a professional practice that utilizes fetal monitoring interpretation skills. Contact hours will be awarded by the Missouri Nurses Association. Illinois programs are partially funded by the Illinois Department of Public Health. The AWHONN courses are not introductory level courses and require a minimum of 6 months experience interpreting fetal monitor tracings. A separate brochure will be mailed out for the AWHONN programs.

SSM St. Mary's Health Center is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Missouri Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
SSM St. Mary’s Fetal Monitoring Class (both Advanced and Fundamentals) are approved for 5.0 contact hours.
AWHONN provides 12 contact hours for their advanced fetal monitoring and 18 contact hours for their intermediate fetal monitoring class.
