License Plate Program
SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center has been a partner in the Children’s Trust Fund License Plate program since 1996. Every penny of the $25 license plate fee goes exclusively to prevent child abuse – there are no administrative costs.
How Cardinal Glennon has used the license plate funds:
- Created and distributed the coloring and activity book, “We Care for Kids” which helps children learn helpful ways to stay safe from abuse and abduction
- Stickers and Magnets with the message, “Stop, No, Go, Tell” help empower children to tell anyone that is doing anything inappropriate to stop and then go tell a safe adult
- “Child Abuse Awareness Week” materials distributed at health fairs
- Child car seats and bicycle helmets purchased and distributed to families who could not otherwise afford them
Created in 1983 by the Missouri legislature, the Children’s Trust Fund (CTF), Missouri’s foundation for child abuse prevention, promotes public awareness about the importance and economic impact of preventing child abuse and neglect, distributes grants to local community-based programs, and provides information and data to impact state policy regarding child abuse, neglect and family support issues.
