Hospital Playrooms
All patients are encouraged to attend one of the three playrooms at Cardinal Glennon while they are in the hospital. The Child Life department provides a developmentally appropriate and safe playroom environment that allows patients to engage in activities individually or with their peers. The playrooms are supervised by the Child Life volunteers.
In addition, Starlight Starbright computer program is available for children ages 13 and older. Starlight Starbright is a community where children with serious illnesses can interact nationwide, creating their own personal support networks. In addition to chatting online, patients can get answers to questions about their diagnoses on a special learning page, and even create stories and play games.
