Canceling an appointment
It is important to your child’s health that you keep scheduled appointments. However, if you need to cancel or reschedule, please call (314) 268-4010 and let us know as soon as possible.

Getting better is a great feeling. An essential part of the healing process is making sure your child comes to all of his or her scheduled appointments.

SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center wants to make this process as easy as possible for you by answering some common questions before you arrive.

Tips to Make Your Visit Easier

Arrive Early!

We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. This gives you time to complete any paperwork that may be required before your child’s visit.

If you arrive more than 30 minutes late to your appointment, you may be required to reschedule.

Where to Park

The entrance to our parking lot is located on Park Avenue. Once you are in the parking lot, turn left into the main garage. The Ambulatory Care Clinic is located inside the door marked Main Entrance.

Need a Ride?

If you need transportation for your child’s appointment, please contact Cardinal Glennon’s Social Service Office between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., at (314) 577-5697. Please call at least 48 hours prior to your child’s scheduled appointment.

Remember to Sign In

Please sign in when you arrive for your appointment, so we know you are here and can serve your child as soon as possible.

How the Waiting Room Works

Our doctors see patients in more than 40 specialty areas, and because each specialty has its own waiting list, it may appear that some patients in the waiting room are being seen more quickly than others. Patients in each specialty are seen based on the appointment time for which they have been scheduled.

Bring Test Results

To help us better care for your child, please bring any recent test results, such as labs or x-rays, to his or her appointment.

Referrals Needed at Time of Visit

Some insurance carriers require a referral from a primary care physician in order to see a specialist. If your insurance company requires this, please bring the referral on the date of your child’s appointment, or have your primary care physician fax it to (314) 268-6465.

Pre-Certification May Be Required

If your insurance carrier requires pre-certification for certain tests or procedures, they need to be obtained before your child’s visit. Our staff will attempt to solicit all required pre-certifications. However, if they are not received by your visit date, your child’s appointment may need to be rescheduled. Payment requirements

Insured Patients

Please have your insurance card available to present at the time of your child’s appointment. Copayments are due at the time of visit. If you have a secondary insurance that picks up primary co-pays, you still must pay the copay upon visit and submit your receipts for reimbursement following your child’s appointment.

Uninsured Patients

Those who do not have insurance are required to pay a minimum of $72 at the time of their child’s visit. Charges in excess of $72 must be paid within 30 days of the visit.

We accept cash, check, Visa and MasterCard at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center. An ATM is available near the cashier’s office for your convenience. For questions regarding payment, please contact the ACC Financial Counselor at (314) 268-2732.

How We Bill You

Our billing is unique in that Saint Louis University bills for physician fees and Cardinal Glennon bills for any procedural or facilities fees. As a result, you can expect to receive two statements.
