Advanced HAZMAT Life Support
Provider Course
 

The Missouri Regional Poison Center and SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center are pleased to offer the region's only Advanced Hazmat Life Support (AHLS) Provider Course.

The AHLS Provider program is a two-day, 16 hour course that gives health professionals a timely and effective response strategy in the medical management of hazmat incidents. 

This course covers a vast array of hazardous materials including pesticides, corrosives, toxic inhalants and chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear agents.

Course Overview

The AHLS Provider course trains participants to:

      Rapidly assess hazmat patients

      Recognize toxic syndromes (toxidromes)

      Apply the poisoning treatment paradigm

      Identify and administer specific antidotes

Participants include:     

      Physicians

      Nurses

      Pharmacists

      Physician Assistants

      Respiratory Therapists

      Toxicologists and Paramedics (EMT-P, EMT-I)

      Military Personnel

           July 27-28, 2009
