Have you always wanted to ride the Katy Trail? Here's your chance to fulfill that dream, and to help a very worthy cause.
On Sunday May 6, a trail ride will set out from the start of the trail in Clinton, Mo., led by Ivy Tominack, the Public Education Coordinator of the Missouri Regional Poison Center at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center.
"Team Yuk Rides the Katy Trail" will cover 225 miles in seven days, with stops along the way where Tominack will deliver talks on poison prevention at schools, community centers and other public gathering spots. The ride is part of a campaign to raise public awareness and spread the poison prevention message in several smaller communities and throughout the state.
Early May is an ideal time to ride the trail, and we're looking for riders to join "Team Yuk."
For a $40 registration fee, you will be part of the team, and receive a green "Team Yuk" bicycle jersey (suggested retail price: $80), a limited-edition Mr. Yuk t-shirt and an invitation to the Team Yuk Victory Party, Saturday, May 12 at the Trailhead Tavern in St. Charles.
