As the state’s first Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center has years of expertise in treating emergencies and trauma. Now the staff is providing an opportunity for the medical community to learn more about pediatric trauma.
SSM Cardinal Glennon will host a pediatric trauma conference for medical personnel on Nov. 5, 2010, at the Lumiere Place Hotel in St. Louis.
The daylong conference will focus on trauma but cover the broad spectrum of ways traumas can occur. Topics will include prevention of injuries; case studies in pediatric trauma; pediatric head injuries; hazardous materials trauma; non-accidental trauma; blast and crash injuries; ocular and orbital injuries and unusual injuries.
"The Pediatric Trauma Conference will give Cardinal Glennon staff members an opportunity to share their pediatric trauma experiences with those in the medical profession," said Chris Green, manager of the Trauma program at SSM Cardinal Glennon. "We hope to provide much more insight into pediatric trauma cases and provide a service for other professionals who may encounter these cases."
November’s conference will provide continuing medical education credits to physicians and nurses.
