Nationally ranked care. Another way our love for kids just keeps on growing.

A Project Beacon clock counts down just more than one day until
Cardinal Glennon launches electronic health records.

SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center enters a new era at midnight April 10, when it goes live with the electronic health record. With the conversion of Cardinal Glennon, all SSM Health Care - St. Louis hospitals are now online with the electronic health record.

"This conversion means we will be able to care for patients with more safety, speed and convenience than ever before," says Cardinal Glennon President Sherlyn Hailstone.  "Parents rely on Cardinal Glennon to do the right thing for kids, and that's exactly what this is."

Throughout SSM Health Care's facilities in four states, conversion to the electronic health record has proceeded smoothly since the first hospital was transitioned two years ago. SSM Health Care is among the leaders nationally in implementation of EHR in hospitals.

"We're so pleased to be able to offer an electronic health record that is as robust as Epic Systems' program. There's a much greater level of safety when you can interweave all of the clinical aspects and physician order entry," Hailstone says. "Our staff is excited and a little nervous, but we all know that this is going to take our service to patients to a level even greater than what we've provided before."
