The Department of Rheumatology at Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center offers comprehensive treatment for patients suffering from rheumatological ailments. Our laboratory focuses on special testing for juvenile idiopathic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus and many other auto immune disorders.

Evaluation and Treatment

We treat all juvenile arthritis sub-groups, lupus, and all childhood connective tissue diseases and vasculitis.  Our clinic is the largest of its kind in Missouri and the eighth largest in the United States. 

Our Research

Our research focuses are in juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and connective tissue diseases (CTD).  We have published over 150 papers on JIA, SLE, and childhood CTD.  Our research laboratory specializes in studies on biomarkers in JIA.
