Welcome to the Pediatric Dialysis Unit at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center.

At Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center, an expert team of physicians and nurses provide quality care for patients with renal failure, using dialysis as a bridge to kidney transplantation for children of all ages.

The outpatient pediatric Dialysis Unit is located on the third floor and can accommodate up to four patients at a time. Because dialysis patients are in the hospital for several hours at a time, we want to make sure your child is as comfortable as possible. We provide several resources:

      Starlight Fun Center 

      Child Life Services

      Dialysis Social Work

      Laptop and video games

      DVD players and televisions

Cardinal Glennon’s dialysis team is also responsible for providing dialysis to inpatients with portable dialysis machines. For families who choose to dialyze at home, education is provided and home peritoneal dialysis is arranged.
