Questions to Ask Your Pediatrician

If you are concerned about your child’s skin condition, your first step is to talk to your pediatrician. The following information condition can help your pediatrician determine the problem and how best to help:

  • When did the skin issue start?
  • What part of the body are involved?
  • Is it spreading or changing? If so, how rapidly (hours, days, weeks, months)?
  • Are there any associated problems, such as pain, itch, bleeding, scarring?
  • What treatments have you tried?

In many cases, your pediatrician will be able to treat your child’s condition. If topical treatments have failed to resolve the problem, your child is using a steroid cream every day, or if your child’s skin condition is interfering with sleep, then your pediatrician will refer you to our office.
