The Cardiology Department at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center is focused on proving excellence in cardiology care through its specialty services.

Fetal Cardiology

At the Dorothy and Larry Dallas Heart Center, our cardiologists offer the best possible care for your child prior to birth. Our team provides screening for congenital heart disease, counseling for your family, and preparation for congenital heart disease intervention after birth.

Once a congenital heart disease is detected, your family will meet the surgeon who will be working with you, as well as the intensive care and neonatology staff.

Cardiac Catheterization

Our cardiologists may recommend cardiac catheterization for your child. Cardiac catheterization provides more accurate and detailed information about the structure of your child's heart and how it is working.  This helps doctors diagnose problems accurately, and allows them to choose the best treatment option for your child. Hybrid Catheterization Suite

Cardinal Glennon offers the only pediatric hybrid cardiac catheterization suite in the St. Louis region. This state-of-the-art suite allows our heart experts to diagnose and fix complex heart problems, in the same room and in one procedure. Heart Murmurs

A heart murmur is a noise that blood makes as it flows through the heart. A heart murmur does not mean that there is anything wrong with your child's heart. Heart murmurs are common in children and are usually harmless. Learn more about heart murmurs in our KidsHealth library.

Lipid

At Cardinal Glennon, we also specialize in treating children with hyperlipidemia, hypertension, and cholesterol. Your child will receive care from dedicated cardiologists, dietitians and social services.  

Pacemaker and Arrhythmia

We offer consultation and management for children with arrhythmias. You and your child will meet with a cardiologist to discuss the best possible treatment plan, based on his or her condition.

Congenital Heart Disease

We understand that heart conditions have no age limit. We offer care for children over the age of 18. Your older child will receive the same care as any other patient, plus consultation from social services.
