The St. Louis Fetal Care Institute is comprised of a team of knowledgeable fetal and pediatric surgeons and maternal fetal medicine specialists, with the guidance of fetal care coordinators, neonatologists, pediatric specialists, anesthesiologists, genetic counselors and ultrasound technicians.
The staff of the St. Louis Fetal Care Institute is supported by a team of world-class specialists from SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center, SSM St. Mary’s Medical Center and the St. Louis University School of Medicine.
Fetal Heart Program
This team from The Dorothy and Larry Dallas Heart Center at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital performs fetal echocardiograms and assists with babies who have heart trouble. Commonly, patients who are diagnosed with the following conditions will meet with our cardiology team:

The nephrology team provides comprehensive care for infants, children and adolescents with various forms of kidney or urologic disorders. Our patients who have been diagnosed with Bladder Outlet Obstruction (BOO), or Hydronephrosis often meet with a nephrologist.

The neurology team specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases of the nervous system, brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles. Patients with hydrocephalus, hydronephrosis and myelomeningocele can plan to meet with a neurologist.

The Neurosurgey team handles any surgeries that are related to a baby’s brain, spinal cord and central nervous system.
Typically, those diagnosed with Myelomeningocele, Spina Bifida or Hydrocephalus will meet with the neurosurgery team.
The Orthopedics team is devoted to treating a variety of conditions including spinal disorders, congenital problems, bone and joint infections, neuromuscular disorders and injuries. St. Louis Fetal Care Institute patients diagnosed with Amniotic Band Syndrome (ABS) can plan to meet with orthopedics.
Pediatric Orthopedics Team
The Pediatric Surgery team performs general surgeries. St. Louis Fetal Care Institute patients diagnosed with conditions such as a fetal lung or neck mass, Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, Sacrococcygeal Teratoma, Gastroschisis, Omplaocele, or Intestinal Atresia will likely meet with one of our pediatric surgeons.
