Katie Francis has served as the nurse coordinator for the St. Louis Fetal Care Institute since it opened in 2009. She has been a neonatal and pediatric nurse since 1999, and a pediatric nurse practitioner since 2008. Because of her varied experience in neonatal and pediatric nursing, she is the perfect fit for coordinating the nursing teams at the St. Louis Fetal Care Institute. She received her Master of Science in Nursing Degree, qualifying her as a pediatric nurse practitioner, from St. Louis University School of Nursing, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Missouri-Columbia.
Katie Francis loves nursing because she loves helping people, and she particularly loves the field of fetal medicine. She says, “I understand how scary pregnancy can be even when there are no complications. I hope that we can help support and comfort families during such a stressful time.” She urges families not to be afraid to ask questions, because all of the St. Louis Fetal Care Institute staff wants to be able to do everything possible to help patients and to provide them with as much information as possible. She feels honored to share in the exciting experience of pregnancy with families.
Outside of work, Katie Francis loves spending time with her husband and three boys. She enjoys being outside, exercising, reading, and being with friends and family.
